2022 Mahi Smash Rules

  • The 2022 Spring Mahi Smash is a largest fish tournament
  • 2ndPlace is the largest 2 fish aggregate. The 2nd place winner is only required to weigh one fish. If a boat's single fish outweighs all weighed 2-fish aggregates, that boat will be declared the 2nd place winner
  • Boats may leave and return to either the Saint Johns, Saint Mary’s or Saint Augustine Inlets
  • FISHING DAYS:Friday April 29th or Saturday April 30th.  Declare which day you are fishing by 9:00 PM the day before fishing. You can undeclare no later than 9:00 AM the day of fishing date declared.  Call or text Rob Widdows at 904-402-5794 to declare
  • Check Out/In: No check out - Fishing begins with lines in at 00 AM. Fishing ends with lines out at 4:00 PM.   Any fish caught after that will not count.  All boats not weighing must check in by text or phone by 7 PM.   Call or text Rob Widdows at 904-402-5794 to check in if you have no fish to weigh
  • Weigh in starts at 5 PM at Palms Fish Camp and ends at 8 PM. If weighing by boat you must be north of the Clapboard Creek Bridge and in sight of weigh master at 7:45 PM to weigh. If not weighing by boat you must be in the weigh in line by 8 PM. You may transport your fish to the weigh in site. You DO NOT have to weigh by boat. The line will be tagged and closed at 8 PM
  • Bluewater Club Members Entry Fee is $300
  • Non-Members it’s $350
  • Calcuttas: $150.00 heaviest 2 fish aggregate and a $150.00 biggest fish. $250 Largest Wahoo
  • No registered vessel may come into contact with another vessel unless an emergency situation arises
  • All Registered Boats must follow all State and Federal Laws
  • No mutilated fish may be weighed
  • No boat line can be used, wire lines permitted
  • All fish must be caught on rod and reel only. No electric reels
  • In case of tie, winner will be determined by earliest to weigh in
  • Tournament is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. YOU DON NOT NEED TO BE A CLUB MEMBER TO PARTICIPATE
  • Formal Protest must be in writing to the Board of Directors with a $250.00 Non-Refundable check to the Jacksonville Blue Water Club
  • To be in the tournament, Form must be completed and all tournament fees & Calcuttas paid and turned in by the Captains meeting on Thursday, April 28that the Palms Fish Camp @ 6:30 PM
  • Mahi Smash General Tourney is a 100% payout (after CC fees and tournament incidentals) all other proceeds from this tournament are used to fund the Jacksonville Bluewater Club Awards & Christmas Party
